A free art exhibition examing the power of creativity in battling mental health issues is set to open in Worcester in February.

On display at The Artery Studios from Wednesday, February 7 to Saturday 10, the event is a celebration of the positive impact of creativity on mental wellbeing.

Organised by Artists Clubhouse, the project, which is funded by The National Lottery Community Fund, is the conclusion of the work created while travelling across Worcestershire encouraging people to embrace creativity in their lives.

Advertising the exhibition, Artists Clubhouse wrote: "This Creative Club exhibition is the culmination of the work created in our project.

"Our aim was to replace skill and judgement with self-discovery and play through a series of activities."

During their workshops, Artists Clubhouse invited people to participate, take photos of their work, and provided them with sketchbooks to take home and continue their creative journey.

"These experimentations in creative play are what make up the exhibition," the organiser added.

The artworks, they hope, reflect the ways in which creative hobbies can lift spirits and support mental wellbeing.

The organiser said: "We're celebrating and sharing the positive impact that creative hobbies can have on an individual, with the hope that it will encourage more people to find their own creative passion."

In addition to the creative club exhibition, visitors can also take part in a series of workshops during the four-day event.

Musical outfit Sounds Omazing is also set to host the "Art of Emotion" workshop, with the aim of introducing the idea of movement and creation to participants.

No booking is required to visit the exhibition, open from 11am to 4pm on Wednesday, February 7, 2.30pm to 8pm on Thursday 8, 11am to 4pm on Friday 9, and lastly 11am to 5pm on Saturday 10.

Those interested in attending the workshops can book their slots via Eventbrite.

Situated in Croft Walk’s Arches 28/29, the venue offers a platform for Worcester residents to interact, get inspired, and discuss the power of creativity as a reinforcing tool for mental health.

All offerings, including entry to the exhibition and the workshops, are available free of charge.
