A WORCESTERSHIRE pub is 'excited' to finally welcome its customers back in front of its bar and to show off its new concept.

The Castle in Droitwich has been closed for three months whilst it underwent a seven-figure refurbishment to mark a new venture for the pub chain Greene King.

The grand opening on Monday will mark Greene King's brand-new pub concept, Seared, making it the first UK pub to do so.

The all-new, freshly grilled, globally inspired Seared menu will also have international alcoholic drinks on tap and in bottles and a larger range of non-alcoholic beverages.

Natalia Perez, brand director at Greene King, said she hopes the new interior of the pub reflects the new international menu, and a great amount of time has gone into little details like the paintings.

"It is just fantastic seeing it all finally come together and being in the space.

"We are really excited to see customers come on Monday."

The inside of the pub still has its bar and eating zones, but these have become more clearly divided through a change in furniture and no TV screens in the restaurant area.

Part of the restaurant area has a coffee machine next to the kitchen entrance.

The pub has kept its pool table but has lost its long tables in the bar area for smaller tables.

There are also dividers separating gambling machines which are in the space.

The new investment has created an additional 20 jobs for the area, alongside retaining the majority of The Castle's previous pub team.
