A "FIRST of its kind" pub in Worcestershire has officially reopened.

The Castle in Droitwich has been closed for three months while it underwent a seven-figure refurbishment to mark a new venture for the pub chain Greene King.

Droitwich Mayor, Kate Fellows, was joined by Natalia Perez, brand director at Greene King, and manager Rebecca Hall to cut a yellow to mark the official opening yesterday (Monday).

The grand opening marked Greene King's brand-new pub concept, Seared, making it the first UK pub to do so.

Seared aims to bring flavours from all corners of the globe, including Turkey, India, Korea, and Spain, to suburban areas that may not have access to various eateries.

Ms Perez said: "It is really, really exciting as we have been working on this for so long and detail has gone into absolutely everything.

"It is just fantastic seeing it all finally come together and being in the space."
