A WORCESTERSHIRE pop star has started 2024 with a trip down memory lane - and given fans a special surprise after they begged her to do one thing.

Cher Lloyd has been reminiscing about her X Factor days and her first audition sharing the CD she took to her famous audition.

X Factor fans always credit her Turn My Swag On audition performance as one of the show's best but after a sneak peek at her audition song list they begged her to perform another track.

In an Instagram post to her 2.8 million followers, Cher wrote: "I found the CD I took the X Factor for my first audition.

"The day my life changed. I'm grateful for the career I've had and the support you've given me.

"I'm even more excited for what's to come."

Song titles were written on the CD. Some tracks on it include Telephone and Give It Me Right - Cher explaining they were the "songs I used to play in my bedroom, singing with a hairbrush".

The burnt CD also had Turn My Swag On - the track the 30-year-old performed at her first audition in front of Simon Cowell.

In the hundreds of comments on the post a number of fans showed their support, many saying they wish they could hear her perform Bust Your Windows - another of the songs on the CD.

That led her to later release a video of her performing the song on TikTok and Instagram writing: "So many of you asked for this... so here it is."

She performs a stripped-back version with a guitar in what she revealed was her home studio.

The singer and rapper attended the Chase School and Dyson Perrins CE Academy before going on to become a superstar almost overnight at the age of 16 after her appearance on the hit ITV show.

We recently reported Cher had made a New Year promise to fans to release new music in 2024.
