BRIGHTENING up the night will be the Light Night festival which is coming to Worcester this month (February).

Light Night Worcester is back for a fifth time on Wednesday, February 14 and Thursday, February 15, where giant light-based and interactive artworks will be popping up around the city centre.

The event, run by Seven Arts, is free of charge and suitable for all ages, which promises to "thrill and captivate" audiences.

This year's programme features 16 events across the city centre over the two evenings in February half-term.

Seven Arts has provided a guide for attendees as to where in Worcester each of the artworks and shows will take place.

Each individual event runs between 6pm to 9pm and is located around Worcester's city centre, ranging from Catherdral Square, by Deansway, all the way down to The Artery in The Arches.

Included in the 2024 programme is:

  • Network by Gemma Wood, taking us on a spellbinding exploration inside the mind.
  • Paul Alty’s Black Hole – End of Time immersive multimedia experience.
  • The Nectary by Alison Smith and Dr Chris Hassall, inviting the audience to mimic a pollinating insect.
  • New Worlds by Halina Rice, an indoor installation bringing a blend of emotive music, lights and visual.
  • Aura dance performance, merging music and visuals, commissioned by Dancefest.
  • Stained Glass Window at St Andrew’s Church illuminated and shining brightly in the night.
