A new venture offering daycare support for adults with extra needs has received the support of Harriett Baldwin MP.

Jack's Place, located on the outskirts of the Malvern Hills in Berrow, is a shared space with 16 regular clients.

The venture, named after a beloved Shetland pony, provides a comprehensive line-up of structured activities including creative arts, cooking and caring for animals and plants.

The initiative, spearheaded by Hannah James, has reached out for support from various public and private bodies for support of the venture's work.

Malvern Hills District Councillor, Jennie Watkins, from the Longdon ward, has been a strong advocate for the cause and has played a pivotal role in securing financial backing from the council.

This aid has given the venture the means to expand its services.

MP for West Worcestershire, Mrs Baldwin, said: "I was delighted to be invited to visit this amazing venture and it was great to meet with Hannah and some of the people who visit the centre each day.

"Hannah is bursting with exciting plans to make the most of Jack’s Place and she’s been able to access the support of the local councillor, as well as sourcing funding from companies including Severn Trent.

"These centres perform an incredibly important role offering day care for people with complex needs and it is heartening to hear that the wider community is helping this venture to succeed."

Councillor Watkins also expressed her support for the ongoing venture.

She said: "I was honoured to be invited to Jack's Place with Harriett to celebrate their new 'warm space' for users and visitors.

"It is both a great place for its users and now to the wider community thanks to their partnership with Pendock Primary School providing use of their minibus for school trips, affordable family half term activities, and now a food van coming soon to our patch.

"They have so many aspirations and I am delighted to support them as they grow."
