Parents, are you looking for a new book to read to your children? Luckily for you, local Worcester teenage sisters, Leah and Josie Ridge have released their new children's book!

"Winston the woodlouse and the band of bugs" follows a woodlouse and his passion for singing. He goes on a search to find other bugs with musical talent to form a band!

Leah Ridge, the author , said that herself and her sister Josie, the Illustrator, were inspired to create the book Winston the woodlouse and the band of bugs as Josie was keen to practice her illustrating skills she had gained through being an art student.

The process of creating the story was a shared experience for the sisters, with josie finding inspiration from fellow children book illustrators such as Axel Scheffler[The Gruffalo] and Chris Chatterton [Little Unicorn]", their influences can be seen in Josies work, yet she has added her own unique flair to create colourful characters.

Leah said that it feels great to have a book published at this age and they were very excited by it . Leah is a keen writer and having a book published so early on in her career has only increased her ambition to write in the future, Josie too has decided her future is in art and from this book we can see the sisters have a great future ahead of them.

The sisters are currently working on other book ideas but time will tell if they will publish them.
