A DRUG dealer who had a firearm disguised as a pen and a crossbow is due to be sentenced.

The 46-year-old man is now waiting to discover his sentence for a string of drugs, firearms and weapons offences including the possession of a sword and crossbow. 

Peter Want, of St Paul’s Street, Worcester, was convicted of possession with intent to supply a class A drug - cocaine and possession with intent to supply a class A drug - heroin when he appeared at Worcester Crown Court on Thursday, (February 8), over offences committed last May.

Want admitted two counts of possession of a knife blade/sharp pointed article in a public place in relation to a black-handled axe and a brown sword in a sheath.

He was convicted of two counts of possession of an offensive weapon in a public place in relation to a Samurai sword and a small black sword; possessing a prohibited weapon (disguised firearm) over a ‘pen gun’; possession of ammunition for a firearm without a certificate and possession of an imitation firearm in a public place in relation to a firing pistol.

A pen gun is a firearm that resembles an ink pen.

And he is further convicted of possessing an offensive weapon in a public place for a crossbow and possession with intent to supply a class B drug – cannabis.

Want is due to be sentenced on Thursday, March 7.

Detective Constable Callum Godwin, of South Worcestershire Reactive CID, said: “Colleagues from the local policing priorities team and specialist firearms officers stopped Wants’ vehicle, recovering a quantity of heroin and crack cocaine from inside.

“Also recovered were numerous weapons including a viable firearm concealed as a pen.

“The Reactive CID Team progressed the subsequent investigation uncovering further evidence of drugs supply building a strong case against the defendant, which ultimately led to him pleading guilty at court.”
