A WAREHOUSE where a cannabis farm was discovered was almost destroyed in a fire.

Hereford and Worcester Fire Service was called out to a large metal farm building along the B4090, Hanbury, at 10.16am today (Friday) after reports a fire had broken out.

A passerby spotted the fire and called police.

Four fire engines from Droitwich, Bromsgrove and Redditch fire stations were on call at the scene, as the firefighters tackled the blaze and doused out the flames by early afternoon.

James Holder, station commander at Hereford and Worcester Fire Service, said there had been no reports of people inside at the time.

The incident comes just days after two men were charged with the production of a class B drug – cannabis and abstracting electricity.

Ervin Aliaj, 24 and Ndoj Ardit, 22, of no fixed addresses, were both charged with the offences after they were arrested yesterday following a drugs raid in Hanbury.

They were due to appear at Kidderminster Magistrates’ Court today (Friday).
