FIREFIGHTERS saved a cat who got into a sticky situation in Whittington.

The cat was trapped inside a cavity wall in a domestic garage in Grandison Gardens.

One fire crew from Worcester used a triple-extension ladder to rescue the small animal and it was released uninjured. 

A Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "An HWFR crew from Worcester Fire Station was called at 8.39pm on February 23 to rescue a small animal in Grandison Gardens, Whittington.

"A cat was trapped inside a cavity wall in a domestic garage.

"The cat was released uninjured using a triple extension ladder.

"There were no casualties and no other emergency services were required. The incident was marked as pending closure at 8.01pm."
