FIRE ENGINES filled a city centre street after a false alarm.
Two fire engines from Worcester were called to Bridge Street after reports of smoke coming from a flat.
However, it was fumes caused by cooking.
Natural ventilation and a thermal imaging camera were deployed to check for hot spots.
A spokesperson for Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service said: "Two HWFR crews from Worcester Fire Station were called at 5.54pm on February 25 to smoke issuing at a flat in Bridge Street, Worcester.
"This was a false alarm caused by fumes from cooking.
"Natural ventilation was used and a thermal imaging camera was deployed to check for hot spots.
"There were no casualties and no other emergency services were required. The incident was marked as a stop at 6.20pm."
