Permission has been granted for two trees to be cut down in a Worcester front garden.

One tree in Flag Meadow Walk has become too large for the garden and is beginning to push against a wall, according to planning documents.

The other is decaying and could collapse in a high wind.

City planners granted planning permission for the work to go ahead, with the council’s conservation officer saying the work seems reasonable.

He added: “The wall should be monitored over time as root dieback from the felled tree might cause subsidence.”
