A MAN was arrested after there were reports of racially or religiously aggravated harassment in the city centre.

The 25-year-old was arrested on New Street in Worcester on Friday (March 8) on suspicion of causing racially or religiously aggravated intentional harassment, alarm or distress.

He was later released on bail. 

A spokesperson for West Mercia Police said: "At around 10.55pm on Friday, March 8, officers responded to a report of public order on New Street in Worcester.

"A 25-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing racially or religiously aggravated intentional harassment, alarm or distress and has since been released on police bail."
