A farm will get back up and running in time for Easter following a devastating fire late last year.

Churchfields Farm in Salwarpe will host its Easter Trail and Easter Bank Holiday EGGstravaganza as it bounces back from a barn fire in November which saw 100 tonnes of hay incinerated and three barns were damaged.

The fire saw Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue service intervene throughout most of the day.

No people or animals were injured in the blaze.

The damaged barns had recently been retooled to structure part of a new family-friendly attraction, the 'Fun Farm'.

The farm bounced back and were able to hold their annual Winter Fayre just days after the blaze.

Owner Gillian Kerton said: "It’s been a tricky few months to say the least, but as always our amazing team have worked incredibly hard to help us get one of our favourite events up and running again."

The Easter Trail will be open from Saturday (March 23) to Sunday, April 7, where children will guess the identity of a series of 'Egg Heads' in efforts to crack a code to gain a free goodie from a 'Treat Chest'.

Attendees can also get stuck into outdoor pursuits like a farm-inspired adventure playground, zip wire, giant bouncers, and go-karting.

The holiday weekend, which starts on Thursday, March 28 and ends on Monday, April 1, promises some additional surprises.

The Easter Bunny and friends will be part of live shows to entertain the whole family.

There's even more fun to be had with Easter Egg Hunts and more Easter Treats for the little ones.

In the light of a testing period, Churchfields Farm has extended gratitude to their friends, family, and the fire service, particularly praising its own staff for their perseverance in the face of adversity.

In a message to the farm's patrons, Mrs Kerton said: "It might look slightly different to previous years but we’re confident it’s going to provide a fantastic value family day out to our wonderful visitors".
