A WORCESTER woman is celebrating her 100th birthday.

Severn Vale Home Care client Jean Baldwin marks the milestone today (Tuesday, March 26).

Born and raised in Macclesfield, Cheshire, Jean’s journey led her to Worcester where she and her husband settled after meeting whilst teaching.

For many years, Jean dedicated her passion to education, teaching the reception class at Claines Primary School near Worcester.

Beyond her teaching career, Jean was a talented artist and dressmaker, finding joy in her creative pursuits and tending to her garden.

Jean’s zest for life and wisdom shine through her philosophy for longevity which is ‘Live your life as best you can, go to bed, wake up and keep breathing!’

Her vibrant spirit and positive outlook have contributed to her remarkable journey to 100 years.

As a cherished member of Severn Vale’s client community for the past six months, Jean attended one of its coffee mornings at Lyttelton Well Café, Malvern, with her daughter Ali.

She enjoyed coffee, cake, and engaging company with staff and fellow clients.

Stuart Callister, Severn Vale Home Care owner, said: “It is a privilege to support and care for Jean, enabling her to stay happily in her home, surrounded by her fond memories.

“It was a true delight to spend some time with her at our recent coffee morning, hearing her inspirational stories about her amazing life.”

Tony Joyce, registered care manager at Severn Vale, echoed Stuart’s sentiments, emphasising the company’s commitment to serving the community with compassion and respect.
