A WOMAN has been taken to hospital after a car crash on a residential road in Worcester. 

The woman sustained injuries not believed to be serious following a crash in Tolladine and was taken to Alexandra Hospital in Redditch for further assessment.

Emergency services were seen at the junction of Tolladine Road and Wharfdale Drive after the crash involving two cars.

A spokesperson for West Midlands Ambulance Service said: "We were called at 2.51pm on Sunday to a road traffic collision involving two cars at the junction of Tolladine Road and Wharfedale Drive in Warndon.

"One ambulance attended the scene.

"Upon arrival, we found a woman who was the driver of the first car.

"She was assessed and sustained injuries that were not believed to be serious.

"She received treatment from ambulance staff at the scene before being conveyed to Alexandra Hospital for further assessment."

The two cars, which were on four wheels, were made safe by fire crews.

A Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "An HWFR crew from Worcester Fire Station was called at 2.54pm on March 30 to make vehicles safe after a road traffic collision at the junction of Tolladine Road and Wharfdale Drive in Worcester.

"The incident involved two cars, both on all four wheels, which were made safe by fire service personnel.

"The road was blocked in both directions.

"One female casualty was handed over to the care of the ambulance service who attended along with police.

"The incident was marked as pending closure at 3.17pm."
