THE owner of a brand-new Italian restaurant says it will be opening very soon – and he’s looking for more staff.

Pasta Di Piazza, which will be serving up Pizzas, pasta, meat, fish and vegetarian dishes, and is coming to Broad Street this Spring.

Restaurant owner Gaz Cani, aged 50, said: “I believe it’s going to be one of the best (restaurants) in Worcester.

“I’m really excited for this. It’s going to be a good thing for the locals”.

He said the restaurant’s menu is “versatile” and offers “something for everybody”.

He’s also looking for bar staff and waiters to join the Pasta Di Piazza team.

The restaurant was originally slated to open on April 22, however, delays in the delivery of equipment means that the opening date has been pushed back.

Mr Cani hopes Past Di Piazza will be opening its doors at the end of the month or early May.

Mr Cani, from Birmingham, has a sister restaurant in Acocks Green, which he has been operating for the past nine years.

He said he was drawn to Worcester due to its “vibrant” city centre.

According to its website Pasta di Piazza prides itself "in preparing all our food to order on the premises using the finest fresh produce and ingredients, many of which are imported specially from Italy.

It says: "Our comprehensive menu appeals to a variety of tastes, offering a range of meat, fish and vegetarian dishes along with the finest pasta, risotto and pizza."

The building was last used by café Patisserie Valerie until 2019 and then the RSPCA as a charity shop before suddenly closing in April last year.
