A ROAD in Worcester has re-opened after firefighters were called out to remove a dangerous structure.
Fire Crews were dispatched into Worcester this morning (Saturday) after a TV satellite was found to be overhanging the pavement.
The incident happened at 11am with the fire brigade using an ariel ladder platform to remove the satellite to make it safe.
An eyewitness said firefighters appeared to be trying to remove a broken antenna from a rooftop along Lowesmoor.
Police closed the road while the structure was made safe.
It led to a large build up of traffic through the city centre with cars queueing along Sansome Street down to the roundabout, the B4205 and Pheasant Street.
A spokesperson for Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service said: "We took a call at 11am to reports of a dangerous structure.
"A TV satellite was overhanging the pavement. Appliances were sent to remove it and make it safe.
"The road was closed to allow access for an ariel ladder platform.
"Police closed the road. The road is now reopen."
