A school near Worcester wants to build a new entrance to improve security.

Broadwas CE Primary School has submitted plans for a single-storey extension to Malvern Hills District Council.

The proposal includes a new entrance area, office and toilets. It will also help the school bring its security arrangements in line with new government guidelines.

“Broadwas C of E Primary School is located in the centre of Broadwas and is a single-storey and two-storey detached building,” planning documents state.

“The proposed scheme has been developed as such to not have any impact on the school and its setting.

“The proposed extension is located at the front of the school and designed to be single storey with low eaves.

“On this basis, we consider that the proposals comply and do not cause any harm to existing amenity or privacy.”

Worcestershire Highways says it has no objection to the plans as they will not impact the traffic flow to and from the school.
