COMPLAINTS have been raised after an overflowing dog poo bin was spotted next to a canal in Worcester city.

The bin in question was first spotted on April 24 along the canal near St Pauls Street in the city centre.

Kelly Marie Payne, who spotted the mess, said: "It's been there all day and it's disgusting."

We asked Worcester City Council if it was responsible.

A spokesperson for the council said: "That particular bin is not serviced by Worcester City Council.

"We believe that it is serviced by Platform Housing.

"We would always encourage people to report any overflowing bins on the Worcester City Council 'report it' section."

Nicola Chamberlain, head of estates at Platform Housing Group said: “Many thanks for bringing this issue to our attention.

"We are pleased to confirm that this bin will be emptied today (April 26) and added to our regular schedule to ensure that this does not happen again.”
