PEOPLE were up on their feet to fundraise at a charity night that proved to be "food for the soul".

The Soul Connection helped people dance the night away and raise £1,600 for Worcestershire Breast Unit Haven (WBUH).

The fundraising night took place at The Cube in Malvern with Rosi Artisan Pizza on hand to serve up food on Saturday, April 20.

Lucy Whitcombe from The Soul Connection said: "Having the opportunity to work with WBUH meant a lot to us, both collectively as a band and on a personal level.

"We can't thank them enough and it was a pleasure to support such an amazing cause.

"You could really see the joy on people's faces and watching everybody dance was definitely 'food for the soul' (pun absolutely intended).

"It all translated into an amazing night for the Unit, so biggest thanks of all must go to everyone that bought tickets and donated to the event.

"It's wonderful to think that we were a part of that and that it will help WBUH continue to make a huge difference to people."

“Events such as this as essential to our charity, not just for fundraising but to raise awareness of what we do, supporting women and men in our county with breast cancer,” said Lexi Craigie, charity director for Worcestershire Breast Unit Haven.

“We are a small charity and we rely on the Worcestershire community for support and fundraising.

"The Soul Connection night at The Cube was a real Malvern community initiative: lots of local people coming together listen to a popular local band, whilst raising a fantastic amount to help us support Worcestershire patients with breast cancer.”
