THERE is nothing we Brits like more than rummaging through the offerings at a car boot sale - after all, one man's trash is another man's treasure.

We joined over a thousand bargain hunters who descended into a Worcestershire field to try to snap up a range of deals.

People travelled across the county to Hindlip Car Boot on Sunday (May 19) which takes place on land on the corner of Hindlip Lane and Hurst Lane in Worcester.

Over 400 cars were parked on the fields surrounding the event, and some were parked on grass verges and pavements nearby.

Patrick Bunch sells a range of products, from games to watches, on his stall and is a regular at car boots.

"Usually, you get a flurry at the start as all the traders come and then it goes quiet but today has been steady.

"The thing which keeps bringing people to car boots is that it's a bargain, and you're getting something that would be £5 to £10 for 50p."

One of the event organisers estimated around 1,200 people had visited the car boot today.

The event was so busy that it caused standstill traffic on Hurst Lane and through Blackpole.

"When the weather is good, that's when you get your 1,000 people coming.

"I think people love coming to a car boots because they find one or two things which they can use as a present.

"It is not all junk - there can be junk but you can come and buy a present for your mum for £1 instead of spending £20 on the same item elsewhere.

"You can find a little gem or something you really like.

"People buy all sorts of stuff and the children come along too to buy themselves something like a toy car.

"You can also get that interaction with people."

Hindlip car boot sale takes place every Sunday and is open to the public from 9am to 12pm.
