EMERGENCY services have been searching for a missing person at the side of the river in Worcester.

Fire crews and police were on Grandstand Road at 1.11am today (Thursday) to search for a missing person.

A boat crew and a drone were also used but no one was found.

A spokesperson for Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service said police are continuing their search later this morning.

A spokesperson for Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service said: "A HWFR crew from Worcester Fire Station, plus the boat crew from Evesham and the drone and incident support vehicle from Ledbury, were called at 1.11pm on May 23 to a search for a missing person in Grandstand Road, Worcester.

"Crews liaised with police and searched along the river bank and surrounding area.

"The boat and drone were used with nothing found.

"Police are due to resume the search in the morning.

"The incident was marked as pending closure at 4.35pm."
