Worcester Carnival will be sponsored by Woodland View Care Home for a second successive year.

The home is also encouraging community members to join in creating their carnival float.

The event, which will take place on Saturday, July 6, will draw residents and staff into designing and decorating the parade float.

Woodland View, one of the top 100 Care Homes in the UK according to Knight Frank’s Care Home Guide, is inviting people to lend a hand each Tuesday from 4pm–6pm to help bring the plans to fruition and enjoy light refreshments.

Lisa Dews, the home manager at Woodland View, said: "We’re all about community at Woodland View, so we thought this would be the perfect opportunity to bring people together.

"All are welcome to join us in making this year’s Woodland View float the best yet.

"We’ll be providing light refreshments for everyone, so please come along and share your ideas."

Adam Bullock from the Worcester Carnival Team, said: "We are looking forward to thousands of people coming into Worcester to visit, with activities, food, craft and local charities plus stage entertainment from 11am to 7pm, and the parade around the city centre at 3pm.

"We're thrilled that Woodland View is returning as one of our main sponsors this year, helping us to showcase the best that our city has to offer. The passion that Woodland View staff has for their community is evident, so we are really pleased to build on this partnership."

Barbara Clayton, an 89-year-old resident at Woodland View, is looking forward to the carnival and the creation of the float.

She said: "I'm happy to see our community brought together with the carnival. I'm glad to be able to help with any float preparations."
