AN "unusually" large police presence was in the city centre after a concern for safety.
It comes after there were eyewitness claims that police were shouting "Drop the weapon now" on The Cross near McDonald's.
The incident took place at around 3am on Sunday, May 26.
A spokesperson for West Mercia Police said: "This relates to a concern of safety."
The eyewitness, who was on the scene at the time, said: "[There were] loads of police at Foregate Street at 3 o’clock this morning."
"I'm not sure what happened and it’s very unusual to see this many vans."
