A LARGE number of vehicles were stopped by police after they tried illegally parking on the road in St John's.
It was a busy hour for St John's SNT after they stopped 12 cars from parking illegally on single and double yellow lines, pedestrian crossings and no-parking school zones.
One of the vehicles was also seized for obstructing the highway and having an out-of-date MOT by six months.
A spokesperson for St John's SNT said: "It has been recognised that parking has become a real issue in the St John's area, and your local policing team is doing all that they can to try and resolve the problem.
"Drivers were challenged and reminded of their responsibilities in adhering to parking regulations and restrictions.
"Most were apologetic and appreciated the warning."
