A NUMBER of private gardens will open their gates to the public this weekend.
Garden enthusiasts will be able to see flowers come into full bloom this weekend as the National Garden Scheme revealed which Worcestershire spaces will be opening to the public.
Two gardens will open this weekend as part of a charity donation scheme.
Money is raised through admissions and any tea and cake garden owners sell on the day.
The Worcestershire gardens opening this weekend are:
1. Millbrook Lodge, Alfrick
Where: Millham Lane, Alfrick, WR6 5HS
The three-and-a-half acre garden and woodland nestled in Alfrick has been developed over 25 years by its current owners.
Large informal flowerbeds are planted for year-round interest, including spring-flowering bulbs, camellias, magnolias, asters, and dahlias.
There is also a pond with a stream and a bog garden.
The garden will be open on July 7 between 1pm and 5pm.
Admission is £6 and the children's entry is free.
4. Spetchley Park Gardens
Where: Spetchley Park Gardens, near Worcester, WR5 1RS
Surrounded by glorious countryside, a deer park, and virtually hidden from the road, this 30-acre Victorian garden will open on July 11.
The garden belongs to the Berkeley family, which has overseen the garden for generations and boasts an enviable collection of plant treasures from every corner of the globe.
The garden will open between 10.30am and 5pm.
Admission is £10 per adult and £5 per child.
