I’M thoroughly disgusted such a much-needed and worthwhile charity in Headway is having to close its shop doors in Worcester due to the rising cost of rental.
Now our nearest such charity shop will be in Stourbridge and, without transport of a motor car and much-lacked public transport, it grieves me and many more unable to get there.
Most of the volunteers are folks in recovery from their ailments of life’s afflictions and yet they still smile, are helpful and chat to their customers.
Over the many years when my husband was ill with inoperable cancer, their caring thoughts and words gave me strength.
It also touched me that, despite life’s afflictions, they cared.

I do understand we have many charities and we all do our ‘bit’ to help but cannot for the life of me see why some have to ‘fall’ by the wayside when they are needed.
Landlords — your shops stand idle when closed, losing you money.
So many old, established buildings are in much need of repair and refurbishment which is of course the landlords’ responsibility.
I apologise if this letter offends but pen must be put to paper.
I shall miss them all greatly — eight years I believe.
Most of my wardrobe is Headway and I have taken items in also.
So sad a day when Headway closes its doors but it opened our hearts to lovely memories which will stay dear.
Thank you, Headway.
