Plans for a proposed seven-bedroom HMO have been refused because they do not comply with parking standards.
The application, which was made to Worcester City Council on June 10, proposed that a five bedroom property at the former Berwick Arms pub at 250 Bath Road, in Worcester, would be converted into a seven bedroom HMO.
The consultation period ended on July 16, and the decision against the plans was finalised on Friday, August 2 with Worcestershire County Council making a refusal recommendation following a full assessment of the application.
In Worcester City Council's decision notice, it outlines that the proposals "do not comply with Worcestershire County Council car parking standards" because of a shortfall of two parking spaces at the site.
Furthermore, it states that the "resultant displacement parking would exacerbate existing on-street parking issues" on Bath Road. The council also believes that the proposal would result in a lack of outdoor space for residents.
