PLANS to convert a former shop into a takeaway have been refused by Worcester City Council.
The application to change the use of the ground floor of 3 Barbourne Road to a takeaway restaurant and install external extraction ducting was sent in October.
In the report, the planning officer explained that the application was rejected because: "Insufficient information has been provided to satisfy the Planning Authority that the proposed use would not result in harm to the amenities of neighbouring sites.
A related application to convert the cellar and first floor of the building into residential flats was also rejected, due to the "poor levels of residential amenity" for prospective occupants of the basement flat.
