Mayflower Football Club players are pictured below in August 1977 dribbling down a street in the Dines Green estate.
Formed from one of the former pubs in the area, the club’s two Worcester League sides, one on Saturday and the other on Sunday, were lacking their own pitch nearby and had to head to council venues at Pitchcroft or further afield at Perdiswell to host games.
The estate did eventually get its own ground with playing fields behind Howard Road off Oldbury Road.
