A community group is gearing up for Worcester to host the 2025 World Bike Bus Summit.
Bike Worcester has began its preparations for the international conference, an event expected to draw attendees from North America, Europe, and across the UK.
The summit focuses on encouraging collaboration, exchanging knowledge, and making connections.
The initiative aims to create networks between advocates, fostering growth and encouraging politicians and decision makers to invest in safe bike bus routes for children.
Earlier summits were held in Barcelona and Frankfurt.
Alongside hosting the global event, the organisation plans to run various local events to highlight progress in the city's Bike Bus provision.
The organisation also hopes to amplify the push for more active travel in the city and beyond.
Over the past two years, Bike Worcester has helped launch 14 Bike Bus routes in 10 schools.
Rob Collier, bike bus volunteer coordinator, said: "The stars have aligned beautifully, and 2025 is going to be the biggest year yet for Bike Worcester, Bike Buses, and active travel in Worcester.
"We currently support Bike Buses at 10 schools in Worcester and already have enquiries for the start of the next school term.
"We have the funding, now we need the help of families, schools and volunteers to make this happen."
Bike Worcester has also developed videos to show how the Bike Bus model works.
Kim Price, bike bus lead at Honeywell Primary School, said: "The children look forward to Wednesday, when the Bike Bus happens, they enjoy the music, chatting with their friends, and feeding treats to Kiki the dog.
"The Bike Worcester volunteers are brilliant, always happy and there to help, either with an encouraging word or a bit of air from a bike pump.
"The best thing is the support and smiles we get from drivers enroute.’
Worcester MP Tom Collins, also a Bike Bus volunteer, said: "Our local bike bus has made a huge difference to families who otherwise could never cycle safely to school.
"It's brilliant that Worcester is making its mark on the world by hosting the Bike Bus summit."
