A Worcestershire key company has been appointed to an inclusivity and diversity scheme.

The Key Safe Company, based just outside of Worcester, has joined the INclusivity Worcestershire Leaders initiative.

Coordinated by Worcestershire Growth Hub, the scheme champions equality and diversity in the workplace.

Key Safe will act as a role model for other businesses in the county, with the aim of creating "a better Worcestershire for tomorrow's workforce".

Businesses involved in the scheme will benefit from promotional marketing activity, and will also have the chance to attend and speak at community events.

Key Safe has been involved in a county council scheme providing paid training placements for service users and vulnerable adults with the aim of fostering personal development.

The company often organises events promoting Neurodiversity Week, Disability Pride, World Alzheimer's Day, ADHD Awareness Month and World Mental Health Day.

Managing director Marcus Taylor said: "Being inducted into this scheme is recognition of just how much importance we attach to diversity, equality and inclusivity in the workplace.

"Everyone in society should have the same opportunities in life and in business and I’m so pleased that everyone at Key Safe feels that way."

Mr Taylor added: "We regularly hold events to coincide with national and international awareness days as well as fundraisers for local charities that do amazing work supporting the most vulnerable and needy in society.

"We will continue our commitment to DEI as a business and look forward to having an involvement in future events under the INclusivity banner."

As part of the commitment to the initiative, the Leaders project recommends member companies to education providers for work placements, employment talks, events and visits.

The Leaders initiative supports a range of projects, including the Disability Confident Employer Scheme for 16 to 24 year-olds and Supported Internships.

Key Safe representatives will be honoured with an award at the INclusive Worcestershire Leaders Breakfast at Sixways Stadium in October.

The company will also have quarterly catch-ups and an annual review next summer to ensure the company is still compliant in all aspects.
