POOR driving standards are causing concerns for people who live and walk near a dual carriageway and busy roundabout.
Worcester City councillor Elaine Willmore, who represents Nunnery ward, said residents have complained about drivers using the A4440.
It follows a third car crashing through safety barriers near the roundabout in a year - though investigations continue into what caused the crash.
She said: "I think, in general, poor driving makes up the bulk of complaints I see as a councillor for the city.
"Whether people are becoming more reckless behind the wheel I'm not sure but the situation isn't improving."
Talking generally about poor driving standards rather than specifically about the latest crash, she said: "It likely comes down to proper enforcement but, partially, it's up to drivers to make sure they are following the rules.
"The railing's purpose is to safeguard a public footpath that's frequently used by families during the school run.
"On the road that follows that roundabout, drivers are constantly using the left hand lane to overtake vehicles in the right hand lane, then cutting in because they are heading toward St Peter's at the next roundabout."
West Mercia Police are investigating after the 4x4 crashed into metal railings protecting a public footpath at the roundabout between Whittington Road and Swinesherd Way on Saturday (September 7).
Officers were called to the incident at approximately 1.50pm on Saturday (September 7) and said nobody was arrested following the single-vehicle crash.
It is the third incident of its kind on Whittington Road in the past year.
West Midlands Ambulance Service said one of their ambulance crews came across the incident shortly afterwards and no one was injured.
A spokesperson for Worcestershire County Council said: "Worcestershire County Council’s accident studies team are currently liaising with the police to investigate the cause of this latest incident."
