A FURTHER road closure has been scheduled ahead of work on a new toucan crossing being completed.
The junction between Bath Road and Norton Road in Worcester is scheduled to close on Sunday, September 15 to allow for road surfacing and marking works to be completed following the installation of a new toucan crossing.
A spokesperson for Worcestershire County Council, said: "There is a planned road closure on September 15 to allow us to finalise the construction of the crossing.
"Once construction is complete, a road safety audit will be required before opening is agreed."
A portion of Bath Road and Norton Road will be closed for works.
Bath Road was previously closed on September 8 (Sunday) from 8am until 6pm at its junction with Norton Road for resurfacing work, with footway access maintained.
Work on the project initially began on July 22 with a 10-week timeline for completion given by Worcestershire County Council that month.
Speaking in July, Worcester city councillor Louis Stephen, who represents Battenhall ward, said: "Bath Road is quite a busy one and quite a lot of people speed there, so a toucan crossing can only help improve road safety for vulnerable people, including cyclists and pedestrians."
