More than 250 artists will perform in the city centre during the three-day Worcester Music Festival.

The free event aims to raise funds for this year's beneficiary, the Herefordshire and Worcestershire MND Association.

The festival has grown for 2024, with more artists and 23 venues, including an independent bookshop and popular spots like The Paul Pry.

It will feature a wide range of music genres, including rock, indie, metal, punk, pop, folk, jazz, blues, reggae, hip-hop, and country.

Punk band Kick The Clown, indie post-punk group The Humdrum Express, and alternative rock band HEY YOU GUYS! will headline the festival at The Marrs Bar each evening.

Cathedral Square will also be hosting performers throughout Saturday morning and afternoon, ending with Icy Moon Explorers.

Drummonds will be keeping busy for all three days of the festival, being headlined by Plane Crasher, Boss Cass and Sedated Society each evening.

Wine bar Bottles will also be hosting acts for all three days, with headlined slated to be Eaten by Lions, Capas and Jasper Malone.

Other venues hosting acts across the city are Barbertown, The Chestnut, Circle of Swords, The Firefly, The King's Head, The Lamb and Flag, The Oil Basin Brewhouse, Paradiddles Music Cafe Bar, The Paul Pry, The Pheasant, The River King, Script Haven, The Sociable Beer Company, Spin the Black Circle, St Swithun's Church, St Swithun's Institute Halls, The Swan, Tonic and Worcester City Gallery and Museum.

Since its launch in 2008, nearly £60,000 has been raised for community charities through the festival.

Ant Robbins, director of the festival, said: "Each year, our festival endeavours to extend support to our local communities where it’s needed most, so we’re delighted to be fundraising for H&W MND Association this year.

"Every year, we are privileged to welcome hundreds of talented musicians who generously donate their time to champion and uphold the causes vital to our local area."

The non-profit event, run by volunteers, will take place from Friday 13 to Sunday, September 15.
