A NEW era is underway at a popular vegan business according to its owners.
Hana Hughes and Paddy Kelly recently reopened the No Frickin Chicken restaurant in Worcester and, four weeks on, say creativity and individuality is the key to their ongoing success.
The owners started the vegan food business three years ago as a van that travelled to events.
In February, they opened their restaurant in St Johns while still travelling across the country and visiting some of the UK's top festivals.
Inevitably, it took a toll on the team and they decided to take some time away from the restaurant to recharge.
Mr Kelly said: "Balancing two and just being flat out for seven months meant we needed some time to recuperate."
Now, having been open for four weeks, the future seems bright at No Frickin Chicken.
"It's been really good being back," Miss Hughes said.
"We've had more people coming in and we've had a few people who have been coming for a while say how much they've missed us.
As part of some changes they decided to make to the Bromyard Terrace restaurant during their closure, NFC has reduced the menu they offer on Thursdays to Saturdays, improved their Sunday Roast options and added their new 'sanctuary specials'.
Miss Hughes said: "Every time someone buys one of our specials, 50p goes to an animal sanctuary in the Midlands."
For October, they decided to go for a Halloween theme for the specials menu, which included a spooky corndog topped with an orange carrot ketchup and black garlic mayo freshly made in the kitchen.
"We hand make about 95 per cent of our menu," Mr Kelly said, "We always use fresh food in our items and we like to keep things interesting."
Miss Hughes added: "The stuff we make here you can't get anywhere else."
Despite the fact that the winter season is yet to start, the team are already looking forward to 2025.
"Next year we'll go back to doing the festivals in the summer again." Miss Hughes said.
"That's what we do and that's what we are known for.
No Frickin Chicken is open on Thursday and Friday between 5pm and 10pm, Saturday 11am to 10pm and Sunday 11am to 9pm.
