A TEENAGER has been arrested after a cat was thrown off a bridge.
The 14-year-old was arrested on suspicion of causing unnecessary suffering to an animal.
He has since been released on bail.
A spokesperson for West Mercia Police said: "On Monday, October 28, a 14-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of causing unnecessary suffering to an animal.
"He has since been released on police bail."
It comes after a gang filmed themselves throwing a cat over the side of a bridge in Meco Alley, Worcester into the Laugherne Brook while others in the background laughed.
They then uploaded the footage to Snapchat.
It is unknown whether the cat survived the attack.
The video caused upset among people in the community including councillor Richard Udall, who shared the video with authorities and asked anyone with information to contact the police.
Cllr Udall also said it was not the first case of animal abuse in St John's that he had been informed of.
