A FORMER manager of a popular city pub is set to bring it back to its former glory in Worcester.
The Courtyard pub will be reopening on October 17 as a show bar in the city centre just over a year after the popular watering hole was put up for sale.
Paul Todd, the new operator of The Courtyard Show Bar, said the venue will be something Worcester does not already have and hopes to bring The Courtyard back to its former glory.
Paul Todd, the new operator of bar in St Nicholas Street, said: "It's going to be something new in Worcester.
"There will be live music, walk-around performers, dancers, and more.
"We will be offering a wide range of beers and cocktails, bottomless food and drink.
"I used to run The Courtyard some years ago, and it was an award-winning business.
"It's been very successful in the past, so we're hoping to bring it back to its former glory.
"It's going to be something Worcester does not have with a different style.
"I was the manager of The Courtyard from 1999 until 2006, and it's a very exciting prospect to give Worcester something it does not have."

The Courtyard Show Bar is currently being refurbished but will be open on Fridays between 6.30pm and 11.30pm as well as Saturdays from 2pm until 11.30pm.
Mr Todd added: "We are going through a refurbishment at the moment, but I believe it is going to be a roaring success.
"A lot of pubs in Worcester have a DJ or live music on occasionally, but we are going to employ local bands and entertainment.
"There will be something for everyone and entertainment on every hour we are open.
"It's an exciting time.
"The Courtyard was a fantastic pub in the history of Worcester with a very imposing building and it's time to make it sparkle."
