Residents can expect doorstep visits as part of a major electricity safety inspection programme.
National Grid Electricity Distribution (NGED) will be carrying out checks this month in Droitwich Spa, focusing on properties in the WR9 postcode area.
The inspections will be carried out by inspectors from A Coole Electrical, who will be clearly identified as working for NGED and will carry appropriate ID.
The inspections focus on the service termination point—also known as a cut-out—which is the indoor location where the main incoming electricity service cable and fuse is situated, in most cases close to the electricity meter.
No equipment will be disassembled, and power supplies will not be interrupted during the checks.
Richard Brady, policy engineer at NGED, said: "The UK is recognised internationally as having one of the most resilient and safe energy systems and this inspection programme underlines our commitment to the highest safety standards.
"Inspectors will visually examine cut-outs to check they are working as they should, taking photos and notes for our records."
The visits are part of NGED’s wider plan to complete 400,000 annual inspections across the Midlands, South West, and South Wales over the next 20 years.
Customers can choose to send photos of their cut-out and meter to NGED, who will then decide if a follow-up visit is necessary.
