POLICE said they are unable to provide an update after a man died in Worcester more than a month ago.
Worcester was left in shock in November following the death of Vijay Kumar and the launch of a murder investigation.
After numerous requests for an update in recent weeks, a West Mercia Police spokesperson today (January 9) said: "Due to investigative considerations we're unable to provide an update at the moment but will do so when we are able."
Mr Kumar died after sustaining stabbing injuries in Barbourne Road on November 25.
As of December 2, 2025, five men had been arrested on suspicion of murder and were on bail as the investigation continued.
In a statement at the time, Mr Kumar's family said: "Vijay brought energy, joy and laughter and filled our lives with warmth. Life was never dull with him around. Even in hard times, his spirit was unbreakable — he lived with purpose, passion, and heart.
"Behind all his gestures was a heart that cared deeply for his family and friends.
"He didn’t always say it, but he showed it—in small gestures, shared glances, and unexpected kindness."
