Could your idea become the next Charlie and Lola, The Hunger Games, or Where the Wild Things Are?
Writer’s Day 2026 will take place on June 20 at The Hive in Worcester, running from 9.30 to 3.30pm.
This year’s event focuses on writing for younger audiences and promises a full day of talks, panel discussion, and networking opportunities.
Vega Minton, events coordinator at The Hive, said: "Writer’s Day is for anyone with an interest in stories, whether they’re working on their first novel, designing an eye-catching graphic novel, or just figuring out how to get started on their own unique idea for a picture book.
"Everyone is welcome to attend. The sessions will be very relaxed and supportive so no-one will feel out of their depth."
Experts from the University of Worcester will appear alongside leading figures from the publishing industry.
Attendees will also have a chance to browse a special marketplace featuring published work by writers from the region.
Speakers include Professor Jean Webb from the University of Worcester, who will explore the enduring legacy of Winnie-the-Pooh, and University of Worcester graduate and children’s book illustrator Jess Mason.
Tickets for Writers’ Day 2026 cost £7 and can be booked on the County Council website.
