A SERVICE station has been left counting the costs after a car left the road and smashed through its signs.
Susannah Moffat, co-owner of Ledbury Road Services near Bushley, said the car took out pole signs, fences, planters and entrance signs when it crashed off the A438 on Friday night (August 7).

'Lost control'
The service station had been closed at the time but the owner, who has viewed CCTV footage of the incident, believes at least one of the occupants of the vehicle was injured.

"A car lost control on the bend just before the service station and came off into the verge and smashed entrance signs," Ms Moffat said. "It was quite spectacular.
"It smashed through the pole sign, entrance sign and then smashed through the fence, before it came to a rest."

Just months after lightning strike
It's not the first time the service station has suffered a blow this year, having been hit by a lightning strike in April.
The site had to close for three months and only reopened in July.
Ms Moffat, who discovered the crash damage when she arrived on Saturday morning (August 8), said she had initially feared that it would mean another closure but the service station has been able to reopen.
Nonetheless, she has estimated that the damage will cost the business around £50,000.
"It's going to be around £50,000 to repair," she said. "The lightning strike was in April and we closed for three months.
"Thankfully, we were able to reopen within a couple of hours this time. It was all cosmetic damage.
"We wish the guy who was injured a speedy recovery."
