IT was a lively day as crowds of people gathered at Pitchcroft for an event that has been dubbed an oversized "village show".
The annual Worcester Show brought colour, music and a variety of activities to the racecourse on Sunday (August 9).
It's estimated that thousands of people braved the high temperatures to attend the event.
Atmosphere
"We try to come every year," said Nicky Hood, attending the show. "We came early because it's going to get hotter.
"It used to be in Gheluvelt Park and it's obviously outgrown that. We come for the food and the atmosphere.
"It's so nice and we're spoilt for choice."

Live music and activities
The day began, as always, with the parade, led by Mayor of Worcester Councillor Tor Pingree, who was joined by her husband Alaric Stephen.
The parade featured a variety of local groups, donning various costumes and traditional dress, waving flags and playing the drums.
Cllr Pingree then took the stage to open the event, and being a musician herself, went on to perform some of her own songs to the crowd.

Local figures in attendance
A number of local figures were in the crowd, including former mayors Matt Lamb and Louis Stephen, as well as the leader of Worcester City Council, Councillor Lynn Denham.
Attending with her daughter Tari Takavarasha, Cllr Denham said: "I just love Worcester Show. It's a genuine village show for all of the Worcester community."
Alongside entertainment, the event featured a range of activities designed to be enjoyed by people of all ages.
Plenty of families were in attendance, including Jonathan and Ellice Taylor, alongside their son Cedrick Taylor.
Like others, they were enjoying soaking up the atmosphere of the day.
"It's really nice," Ms Taylor said. "It's just a bit hot but there's a better layout and a better vibe this year."
