Stephen Cope, ferry master, said: "I was on ferry duty at 12pm on Sunday, August 16, and found a black earbud at the foot of the ferry steps on the Chapter Meadow side.

"The ferry was running on Saturday so it could only have been dropped after 5pm on Saturday (August 15)."

Mr Cope encouraged anybody who wished to claim the earbud to visit the cathedral ferry website and send their details to the email given under the 'contact us' page.
