POLICE officers are investigating an alleged assault and theft at a petrol station in Worcester.

The incident happened at around 4am on Thursday (September 10), at Blackpole Service Station.

Witnesses say a staff member was allegedly hit, bitten and kicked in the incident.

A West Mercia Police spokesperson said: "We received a call around 4am yesterday morning (Thursday 10 September) with a report of an assault and theft from Blackpole Service Station in Worcester.

"Enquiries are on-going."
