COMMUTERS travelling from Worcester to Birmingham were caught up in delays this morning after a person was hit by a train.

The person, whose gender is not yet known, died following the incident which happened near Old Hill Railway Station about 9am.

A London Midland spokesman said it was the 8.55am Stourbridge to Stratford train that was involved in the incident.

He said: “It was a fatality. Somebody went onto the track. What’s happening now is that the train that hit it is still there and we are getting the passengers on the next train.

“In the meantime we are running buses between Stourbridge and Snow Hill.

“The train following on from the one involved has gone back to the nearest station and we have put the passengers on buses.”
