HORROR film fans dressed as zombies will be shuffling through the Shambles for their part in a world record-breaking attempt.

Husband and wife team Andy and Tracey Monaghan are hoping up to 100 people will take to the streets for the first Worcester Zombie Walk on Sunday, October 26.

Mr Monaghan, of Lower Chestnut Street, Arboretum, said: “Nobody has done anything like this in Worcester before – we’re very excited. The response we’ve had has been good. We’ve already got about 50 people confirmed for the day.”

The event is part of World Zombie Day, started in the United States as an eye-catching way to raise awareness about World Hunger Day on Sunday, November 23.

Everyone must register on the day at Viderodrome, in Broad Street, from 11am to join thousands around the world for a record-breaking attempt for the most zombies walking at any one time.
