A WOMAN was bound over to keep the peace following a drunken bust-up at her home.

Susan Cleveley had to be carried from her home in Northwick Road, Northwick, Worcester, following an argument with her husband.

The 57-year-old agreed to be bound over in the sum of £100 to keep the peace for six months when she appeared at Worcester Magistrates Court.

Police officers were called to the address at 3.45pm on Monday, November 10, by the woman’s husband, who was not named in court.

Mark Soper, prosecuting, said: “She was shouting and screaming at him and appeared to have assaulted him. She had been drinking.

"She was asked to get dressed and was in an upstairs bathroom when the officers arrived. She carried on drinking from a bottle of vodka.

"She had to be carried from the property. There have been a number of incidents over the last eight years as a result of her drinking to excess.”

Mark Sheward, defending, said the couple had been married for the last 36 years and she had been upset when a mirror that had belonged to her grandmother was broken.

“She says she has been subject to violence from her husband over the last few years,” Mr Sheward said. “She is financially dependent upon her husband who provides her with £150 a week for household bills.

"She apologised to the officers when they got to the police station. She’s very remorseful.”

Cleveley was also ordered to pay £40 costs.
