WELL, dear reader, the panto is up and running, we’ve had some great reviews, and everybody seems to be having a really good time when they come along, so huge sighs of relief all round.

My job as producer has finished now, but do I get to relax and put my feet up? I bet you can guess the answer to that one!

We are already planning next year’s Dick Whittington panto – tickets are on sale, and I have booked to go and see four Dick Whittington shows at other theatres around the country.

It is good to get a feel for it (and pinch the odd good idea) before starting to write the script.

We have to choose sets and scenery very early in January, and start getting key personnel in place. I’m starting to feel faint at the very thought of it! I’m sure I’ll cope, though, once the adrenaline kicks in again.

This will be my last Centre Stage before Christmas, so I would like to take this opportunity of wishing all readers a really happy Christmas and prosperous new year.

Thank you for your support during the year at the venues and the festival and thank you for reading my column. It’s a great feeling when someone stops you in the street and talks to you about what you’ve said that week.

Please feel free to do so at any time. Speak to you all in the new year.
